What AskSite keeps about you, why, and what it never does. Last updated 2026-10-29.

Who is responsible

AskSite runs this website and decides what happens to the information you give it.

When you send a message

The contact form keeps your name, email address, the message, and the company and subject if you give them.

They are used to read and answer your message, and are kept in this site's inbox until they are no longer needed.

When you subscribe to new posts

Subscribing keeps your email address and when you confirmed it. You only get emails after you confirm from the first one.

Every email has an unsubscribe link, and your mail app's own "Unsubscribe" button works too. After that, no more emails are sent.

When you visit

Like most websites, the server records technical details of each visit (IP address, browser, the page asked for, and errors) to keep the site working and secure. These records are deleted after a limited time.

Which articles you read and where you came from is kept in your own browser and reported as visit counts, so the site can see what readers find useful.

Each article counts how many visits opened it, how many read it to the end, and how many answered "Was this useful?" either way. Only the totals are kept, with nothing about you; your answer is remembered in your browser so you are not asked twice.

The site stores your sign-in and security settings in cookies, and display preferences in your browser. There are no advertising cookies.

If the site owner connects Google Search Console

The site can read its own search statistics from Google (which searches showed it, clicks and positions) with read-only access, to decide what to write and update. These statistics describe searches in total, not individual readers.

That access is stored encrypted, used only for this site, never shared or sold, and not used for advertising or to train AI. The owner can withdraw it at any time by disconnecting, or in their Google account under Third-party connections.

What is never done

Your details are not sold or shared for advertising.

Your messages and email address are not sent to AI services. Articles on this site may be written with AI assistance, and each one says how it was made.

Your choices

You can ask what AskSite holds about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Write to us through the contact page.
